Solid Shampoo-The Saga Continues

As many of you know, I have been using solid shampoo since April. Though it took me a bit to find the right combination of oils and super fat I have to say that my hair has finally settled in nicely to the very latest formula. My hair is very thick and tends to be very heavy-I have to say that with the new regimen my hair seems to have much more volume, and just seems clean and happy in general. Yay!

I would also like to add that my 19 year old son recently acquired one of my shampoo rounds to try and his hair has never looked better - a noticeable difference. He was over the other day and I could instantly see that it was far less oily and in fact shiny. He told me he was rather impressed, and was totally sold on solid shampoo. So there you have it.

Sounds like you found a winning recipe, Michele. The approval of a 19 year-old is not easy to achieve.

Hi Michele,

Thank you for sharing your results from experimenting with shampoo bars. It would seem like a couple of other soap makers recently, you are sold on shampoo bars!

The conclusion that they leave your hair less oil and add luster and better body to your hair seems consistent with what other soap makers have found.

We are running a blog soon on what two other soap makers found during their testing of shampoo bars, comparing them to regular store-bought shampoo. I might like to include your thoughts soon on this.

Thank you for sharing your findings!

This is awesome!! I actually had to re-train my hair when we got back from vaca. The water was so hard where we were staying that it was impossible for me to continue using the bar. My hair just got worse and worse. I'm so happy to be home in the land of soft water again!!

@Michael,just let me know what you may need from me-glad to help.

@Amy,I would think that's the drawback(if you ever break from using shampoo bars-your hair needs to readjust.)I've been using some type of shampoo bar since April. We went out of town for a few days and I just packed it up with me(along with my vinegar and off I went)worked out just fine. The only different thing was the soft water while out of town=lots of extra lather that I don't get at home. <3<3
